Firms for Hamlets - NRRP
Promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Firms for Hamlets Project aims at supporting the social and cultural improvement of the area by revamping small Italian hamlets such as Moncalvo, Penango and Ponzano, that risk becoming ghost towns.
The role of Mecobat in its Hamlets for Us project is that of an operational partner that allows for completing an infrastructure network of sustainable mobility that will:
- Revamp the local economy and employment while tackling the depopulation of such hamlets

A new life for the abandoned railway line
The Monferrato region is an UNESCO Heritage Site, a valuable asset for several business sectors
The projects focuses on overhauling the abandoned railway lines thus transforming it into a sustainable mobility trail open for all. The 9 kilometers of bike lane will run on the abandoned railway lines that currently links the three hamlets flagged by the Italian Ministry of Culture as at risk of abandonment: Moncalvo, Penango and Ponzano.
